We understand that children’s mental health is a priority, however as part of our values of care, understanding and ambition it is important that we support our children to achieve the exam results that help them make the next steps into college or to achieve their ambitions.
Our pupils have often missed years of education or had several school moves before coming to us. We are delighted to say that despite these barriers the pupils have achieved 74 GCSEs, L1 or Entry Level 3 qualifications and more than 125 Unit awards this year. This academic success is not just limited to years 11 and 12 – from Year 8 60% of pupils achieved Entry Level 3 maths and 5 Year 10 pupils achieved 4 or above in GCSE maths. Our top performing pupil achieved 6 GCSEs between grades 4 and 7.
Being a pupil at Stone Lodge Therapeutic School is not all about qualifications and so much personal development cannot be recorded by grades alone. We are very proud of all our pupils and delighted that all our leavers have a destination for Post 16. Well done all of you!

Pupils’ personal and social development are priorities for the school.
Therapy and nurture are at the heart of the school’s provision. Leaders are committed to supporting pupils to develop character, gain social skills and grow confidence. This vision is supported across the curriculum and other activities that the school offers.
I don’t think it is an overstatement to say that Stone Lodge has had a life changing impact not only for my child, but for my whole family. My child faced significant challenges in mainstream secondary; these affected her mental health this impacted on the whole family. To be in an environment where she is known and understood is just amazing. Of course we have ‘bumpy’ days – but these are FAR fewer.

For so long I have felt that we have battled with a system that did not work for my child. Everything was a fight and more than once I considered withdrawing my child from education all together. I am so glad I didn’t. We are so lucky to have a place at Stone Lodge. A place where my child’s needs are understood and supported; a place where (finally) my child feels safe enough to learn; a place where my child is actively encouraged to be their true self; a place where learning and emotional well being are recognised as being intertwined and BOTH are prioritised.
